Matt Kenseth survived two green-white-checker finishes at Atlanta to finish 2nd today. Kenseth ran in the top 5-10 most of the day after starting 14th. Kenseth is 2nd in points, just 26 points out of the lead!

Matt Kenseth suffered a mid-race vibration that forced him to pit road from 3rd position. But caution flags held off and he was able to get back on sequence with the rest of the leaders. After starting 11th, he ran in the top 5 much of the day, finishing 5th at the end. Kenseth moves up to 4th place in points.

Kenseth 7th at Fontana under leadership of new chief Parrott
ImageNew Team 17 crew chief Todd Parrott led the Crown Royal team to a 7th place at Fontana on Sunday. Kenseth battled a loose race car most of the day, but the Killer Bees pit crew consistently made up positions in the pits while Kenseth did his part on the track. Kenseth is up one spot on Sprint Cup standings to 7th.

Kenseth 16th after last-lap crash in Bud Shootout
Matt Kenseth was headed for a top 5 finish in the Bud Shootout at Daytona on Saturday, but was caught up in a last lap crash which relegated him to a 16th place finish. The #17 Crown Royal car came on strong in the last segment of the race.

Season starts at Daytona
The 2010 NASCAR season kicked off Thursday with drivers meeting members of the press and the first practices for racing at Daytona International Speedway. Matt Kenseth and the #17 Crown Royal Ford were 15th in the first practice session of the day and 3rd in the second.
