2009 Q&A

|
|
Q |
If Mr. Roush came to you and said, “Drew here’s
a blank check for you to spend on anything you
want.” Would you prefer more or better
personnel, or better testing equipment.
Joel Busse,
Black River Falls, Wis. |
|
A |
It would have to be testing. We have great
personnel. All are hard working and knowledgeable. That blank check would
probably build a test track in the backyard.

|
Q |
Do you have any superstitions or routines you do
when getting ready for the races each week?
Ricca
Williams, Colorado Springs, Colo. |
|
A |
I do. I try and wear the same shoes I had on the
last time we ran well, and get new ones every
now and then to try and change our luck. I also
rotate watches based on which one was on the
last time the car was fast. Pretty silly.

Q |
I’m a huge Roush Racing fan (Kenseth, Ragan, and
Edwards) and I was wondering how much of a role
teammate racing and sharing information plays
each week at the track.
Stephanie Ehrets,
Johnson City, N.Y. |
|
A |
Sharing plays a huge role. We are very in-tune
to our teammates to try and maximize practice
time. On the track during the race, we are for
ourselves. We give extra attention and care to
teammates but we all want to win equally.

|
Q |
I know the same chassis is used on multiple
tracks. Is there a lot of work in getting that
chassis set up for a different track or is it
ready to go right after it is unloaded?
Mike Berry, Lincoln, Neb. |
|
A |
There is a lot of work done. After unloading,
all suspension parts get checked for cracks and
stress. There is a lot of maintenance that has
to be done after running 500 miles at 190mph.

|
Q |
Hi Drew, what is your favorite track to race at
(besides Daytona)? Keep up the good work HSHS &
IL are proud of you.
Donna Chase, Springfield, Ill. |
|
A |
Thanks Donna. Honestly, I like the ones where we
are running good. I like the racing at Atlanta.
It is fast and running side-by-side is common
there.
