I am a hat nut. I’ve noticed that you are almost
always wearing a hat. Do you have a big
collection or is it more for your sponsors?

I don’t have a huge collection. Most are sponsor
hats, but I have a few favorites.

Q |
With all the changes in NASCAR with rules and
regulations, who monitors this information and
ensures that the team is in compliance?
Gayle McCully, Redlands, Calif. |
|
A |
The NASCAR inspectors
keep track of everything at the track. They also
have inspectors available during the week or
during the off-season to come by the shop and
explain the rather large rulebook to the crew
chiefs and teams to help them make sure they
understand the rules and what they are looking
for.

Q |
The NFL has a “one
chance to win or go home” system for the teams
in the playoffs in their sport, which creates
extreme excitement and also makes the NFL unique
from other sports. Now, what do you think makes
NASCAR stand out from all of the other sports?
What makes NASCAR so unique?
Justin Shepard, Peoria, Ariz.

A |
I actually think most
sports are the same with playoffs, its one team
vs another, whether it be a series of games or
one game. I think nascar is unique cause its one
team vs 42 every week. You not only need to beat
the other 9 teams in the chase but you need to
race the others as well for positions and
points.
