A We filmed in their Janesville, Wis., store. It was fun, but it was a long night. We shot most of it after the store closed. It was a lot of fun and a neat experience to be able to include my dad and Ross.

Q What style of Wiley X sunglasses do you wear? They don’t list the style you are wearing on their website.
Mitchell Bedwell, Cohutta, Ga.
A I have been wearing Revolvrs.

Q

Hey Matt, after the race, what do you do for fun?
Sarah Dalby, Fall River, Wis.

A We race to the airport, fly home, and sleep!!!

Q Why does the gas man shake the empty gas can prior to you leaving the pit box? Thank you for keeping this “Ask Matt” section alive, I really enjoy it.
Don Peacock, Buffalo, N.Y.
A Thanks for participating; I have been enjoying it as well. When the gas man shakes his can, he’s letting us all know the tank is full. When the catch can starts filling up, he knows the tank is full, and since his hands are full he shakes the empty can. That lets Chip know it’s full, but more importantly it lets the the jack man know as well. The jack man makes sure the car is full and the tire changers are done before he drops the jack and lets me go.

Q Hey Matt, I was wondering what wedge is? I know it has to do with something on the car. I just don’t know what.
Tim Poole, Raleigh, N.C.
A Wedge is the crossweight in the car, the percentage of static weight on the left rear and right front. Basically the more wedge, or crossweight, you have, the tighter the car will be, to a point. It’s one of the few things we can adjust rather quickly on a pit stop.
