I know you like
football and racing. Have you watched any of the
Olympics or seen Michael Phelps going for 8 gold
medals?

Not really. I have
been very busy the last week or so and haven’t
gotten into watching the Olympics. I have read
the news and it’s amazing what Phelps has done,
but I haven’t watched much of it.

Hey Matt, did
running lots of the Busch [Nationwide] races a
year ago give you an edge on the tracks, and are
you going to run more Nationwide races next
year? Thanks.

I would like to run
more Nationwide races than I am right now, but
it depends on sponsorship. I think at times it
has helped to drive in the Nationwide series,
and at other times not so much. The new Cup car
is totally different than a current Nationwide
car, so the setups and driving styles are very
different.

I like orange Gatorade
the most. I’m not sure why, just tastes the best
to me!

collection of diecasts and other memorabilia
from your racing career?

Yes I do, I try to
keep at least one of everything made. I keep all
of my collections at the
Fan Club
Headquarters in Cambridge, Wis. I
display many items in the museum there, and
there are many more things in storage.

wondering who does the paint jobs on the race
cars? Thank you.

As far as designing
the paint schemes, the sponsors do. But we have
a paint shop in the Roush building that does all
the physical work of painting the cars.
