It seems like you
drivers are always on the road. How often are
you actually home during the week? What do you
like to do for fun when you are home?

A |
It really depends on
the week, every week is a little bit different.
Some weeks I will only be home a day or two, and
other weeks I will be home from Sunday night
after the race until Thursday. Mostly I like to
relax. I enjoy riding my motorcycle, this time
of year I really enjoy watching football, and
when I’m home I spend a fair amount of time at
the race shop.

Hey Matt, I’m a
huge Packer fan, and decided to start watching
NASCAR this year. You were the driver of choice
due to your being a Packer fan as well. I was
curious when and why you became a Packer fan?

I became a Packer fan
at a fairly young age, but got more passionate
about it in the early 90s. I grew up about 3
hours from green bay, I think we are all packer
fans!!!

No, I haven’t done any
ice racing. I’m not really sure if I would, it
depends what I would be racing on ice and how
thick the ice is!!

wondering, with all your fame, exposure, and
popularity, do you go to restaurants, grocery
stores, and other kinds of places like us
average folk? If you do, do you get upset or
offended if people come up to you and say hi and
shake your hand? As long as they’re not rude or
pushy I mean. Thanks, and good luck in the
chase.

I do everything that I
have always done. No, it doesn’t bother me at
all, I love meeting race fans and everyone has
always been real cool. I usually make Katie do
the grocery store thing though!!!

I am your biggest
fan and I’m 9 years old. I feel so bad for you
about what happened at N.H. I saw a photo of
your cats and I thought I would ask you if you
like dogs?

Yes, I like most
animals, but cats work the best for us. We
travel a lot and they are low maintenance. I
also like the fact that they can figure out
where to go to the bathroom themselves and I
don’t have to get up early and walk them.
