Knowing that you
have been a Metallica fan as well as that of
other more hard/heavy bands in the past, I was
wondering what bands you are listening to today.
Todd Crawford, Kennesaw, Ga. |
Past Q&A

 |
|
A |
Since the new
Metallica came out, I have been listening to
that almost every day. I think it sounds great.
Other than that, I like Disturbed, Godsmack,
Seether, and stuff like that

Q |
I see that you pit
towards the back of the track. Is there a huge
difference where you choose a pit stall?
Kevin Zimmerman, Fort
Atkinson, Wis. |
|
A |
There can be a big
difference where we pit. We choose in order of
our qualifying effort, so on a bad Friday you
don’t have much to choose from! We always try to
look at speed lines and try to pit where we
think there will be the most room to work, like
at an opening or maybe by a car we don’t think
we will be racing near all day.

Q |
I know Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards play NASCAR
video games. Do you? If so, what view do you
use? I love any NASCAR game, but I can’t race
from the driver’s perspective (inside the car)
to save my life. Is it easier for a real driver?
Amos Meyers, San Angelo, Texas |
|
A |
No I don’t really play
many NASCAR video games. I can’t race on that
view either, I need to see the car.

Q |
Have you ever
driven a Chevy in your career? If so, what year
or years was it?
Jason Wyatt, Casper, Wyo. |
|
A |
I drove a Chevy in the
Nationwide/Busch series from 1997–2001.

Q |
Matt, you mentioned
some drivers have a drink holder. How can you
take a drink with a full face helmet on driving
160 or more with 42 other drivers around you?
Scott Bailey, La Crescent, Minn. |
|
A |
I have a Gatorade
In-Car Drinking System. It’s piped right into my
helmet with a bike valve on the end so I can
take a drink anytime.
