Q |
We enjoy seeing you race every year at
Chicagoland Speedway and this year your pit
stall was closer to our seats and we could see
what a good job [The Bees] do. Do you and the
pit crew ever leave the speedway and go
sightseeing in Chicago?

2009 Q&A

. . . . . . . .

 |
|
A |
No, not really. The guys that go over the wall
actually just come for race day, so it’s in and out in the same day. I very
seldom get to any of the cities early enough to go see very much. When we first
got on the circuit and weren’t as busy we did go early sometimes and look
around.

Q |
I was looking at your photos, your car was once
a Chevy, but now it is a Ford. Why did you
switch?
Wendy Moon,
Shady Grove, Pa. |
|
A |
When I started racing for Reiser Enterprises
they owned Chevys, so that’s what we raced. When
I started driving for Roush they obviously had
Fords, and I have been racing them ever since.

First of all, congratulations on the birth of
Kaylin. She’s adorable and I wish you, Katie,
Ross, and Kaylin many future blessings. A
somewhat strange question…how are your cats
enjoying the new addition to the family?
Christy Smith,
Manassas, Va. |
|
A |
The cats have been surprisingly receptive. I
thought there would be an issue, but so far
there hasn’t been. Thanks.

Q |
I was wondering what kind of steering wheel do
you use on your race car or are they all the
same?
Johann Martinez, Harlingen,
Texas |
|
A |
I’m
not sure what brand it is to be honest, but it’s
just a 17-inch, 3-spoke steering wheel with a
quick-release hub.

Q |
Looks like you taught Ross well on driving at
MIS. Will Ross run for the championship? The MIS
fans love him. Have you raced late models with
him?
Lyle Kraus, Monroe, Wis. |
|
A |
Ross is not running for points at Madison this
year. He has missed a few nights and has been
trying to travel a little more and get some
experience at different tracks. But he has been
racing at MIS every week he is around home. We
are racing against each other at Madison on
August 29. I have never raced a limited late
model at Madison and I am looking forward to it.
They look like a lot of fun.
