Q |
Since ESPN didn’t show the driver introductions
on TV for the Bristol race, what song did you
have played for your introduction?
Becky Lelingis,
North Riverside, Ill.
Besides Metallica, what other bands do you like?
Rob Quinones,
Bristol, Conn. |
2009 Q&A

. . . . . . . .

 |
|
A |
I chose Godsmack’s “The Enemy” for Bristol.
Bands I’m listening to now are Godsmack, Disturbed, Nickleback, Theory of a
Deadman, and Seether, just to name a few.

Q |
Hey Matt, Have to say I am a big Matt #17 DeWALT
fan and of course I can’t forget Drew and those
Killer Bees. Two questions: Why do you and some
of the other drivers choose that end pit stall?
And I wondered if you would ever be interested
in running in the Camping World Truck Series a
few times a year?
Dave Howell,
Toledo, Ohio |
|
A |
You always try to pick a pit stall with an
opening if you have the opportunity. There are
only four of them at Bristol, which are the four
turns basically, so we picked it because there
is nobody pitted behind you so it is much harder
to get blocked in. I have never really had the
opportunity to run any truck races, and with all
I have going on really haven't had enough time
to really seriously consider it.

Q |
We just saw you at the Michigan race. After all
that heat in the stands, how do you deal with
all the heat in your car?
Michele McNamara,
Marion, Ohio |
|
A |
I’m TOUGH!!
The heat just something you learn to deal
with, but you really try to eat good, stay
hydrated and rested, and also try to get your
car as comfortable as possible.

Q |
What are your thoughts of Brett Favre going to
the Minnesota Vikings? Just think the two of you
will be in a purple jersey next season.
Angie Suski, Green Bay, Wis. |
|
A |
Favre in purple? YUCK. I am taking all my Favre
stuff and putting it in storage for a little
while! Glad he’s playing if that’s what he wants
to do. You only get one chance at life and not
many people are that good at something and enjoy
it that much, so if he wants to play I think
that’s cool. Can’t wait to see the Packers play
them, GO PACK!

Q |
How is the Car of Tomorrow different from the
old cars that you won your championship with?
And do you think you’re better with the COT?
Dallas Woolston, Atchison, Kan. |
|
A |
They are very different. The main differences
are the aerodynamics — they have less downforce
— and the cars are bigger, heavier, and higher.
They don’t handle very well. , I feel like I was
better with old car because there were more
things you were allowed to work on to tune the
car to your driving style.
