Q |
Hi Matt: When Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart
missed the chase and NASCAR changed the rules of
the Chase to add two more spots, do you think
NASCAR will again change the rules to add two
more spots because you and Kyle Busch missed the
Chase?
Carol Collins,

2009 Q&A

. . . . . . . .

 |
|
A |
Ha, I doubt it! I think having 12 is more than
generous; we just need to do better.

Q |
Hi Matt, I was wondering what is the hardest
thing to do in the car when you’re racing?
Ashley Cote,
Oakland, Maine |
|
A |
The hardest thing for us lately is to get the
car to run well and to adjust it properly during
the race. From in the car it has been hard to
tell them what to adjust on pit stops to make it
better.

Q |
Thanks for running in Prelude To The Dream. Do
you choose your extra events, or is it mostly
sponsor driven on which events you will do?
LeRoy Weeres,
Becker, Minn. |
|
A |
I choose to do those events. I have a good time
doing it and Tony does give a good portion of
the money to charity, which is really cool.

Q |
When you run the night races, how distracting
are the stadium lights? Do they cause blind
spots or reflections off the other cars that
make it difficult for you to drive?
Yavanna Horbal, Thomaston,
Conn. |
|
A |
You can actually see better at night races than
day races. The lights are so good there is no
glare or issues. During the day you have to deal
with clouds, setting sun, etc. At night it is
very consistent and easier to see.

Q |
Joey Logano is the youngest driver in Sprint Cup
Racing at 19. Do you see Ross being in NASCAR by
age 19?
James Sanders, McFarland, Wis. |
|
A |
I have no idea. He is doing very well and we
have been trying to give him all the
opportunities to advance his career if that’s
what he decides to do. We have all been having a
lot of fun watching him race and working with
him. I don’t put any added pressure on him, at
his age having fun and enjoying what he is doing
is the most important thing.
