Are you doing anything different this off-season
to get ready for the 2010 season? Is Roush
Fenway as a whole doing anything different for
the new season?
Kevin Bassetti,
Hampton, Ark. |
Jan. 7, 2010
|
 |
Personally, I am not doing anything different; I
feel like I am always prepared for a new season to begin! At the shop, they are
always working to improve our cars and engines. I hope that we will make some
positive changes on the cars and we will start the new season strong.

Whenever I drive fast on the street, I get
tunnel vision around 90mph. Do you get this, and
if so, how do you deal with it at the speeds you
go for the time you spend around 200?
Matthew
Powell, Ravena, N.Y. |
 |
No I don’t — if I did I think I would have to
look for another job! You really need to be
aware of your surroundings especially at places
like Talladega where you are racing in such a
big pack all day.

Are you doing any testing with the FR9 engine?
Robert Durocher,
Covington, Ga. |
 |
No we haven’t. I hope we get the stuff up and
running soon.

What is your Christmas holiday like? Where do
you go?
Ashley Cote, Oakland, Maine |
 |
We spend our holiday up in Wisconsin. We spend
some time at my Dad’s and at Katie’s family’s
house up there.

I truly believe that NASCAR drivers are
athletes! Which type of race is more difficult,
lots of short laps or fewer, longer laps?
Patty Williams, Live Oak, Fla. |
 |
The shorter the track the more physical it is.
You don’t get much time to rest. Plus there is
less air moving around with the slower speeds,
so depending on weather, usually Bristol,
Martinsville, and even Sears Point (Infineon)
are the more physical tracks.
