Q

Matt, we’ve got great  snow for snowmobiling up here in southern Wisconsin this January. What is the sled you’re riding when you’re back home?
David Hagemann, Brooklyn, Wis.

Hey Matt I hear you like snowmobiling. What kind of sled do you ride? You need to come out to Utah and do some mountain riding.
Chris Jones, Spanish Fork, Utah

Matt, you said you like snowmobiling. What kind of sleds do you have? We hill drag race our sleds — it’s cool!!

A I ride a 2001 Polaris XC700. I have been able to ride a little bit up in Wisconsin this year. I hope to get one more trip in before the race season starts.

Q I just saw the new Lincoln MKS for 2010. WOW That is a really sharp car! Are you going to upgrade to a 2010? Is yours a 3.5 or 3.7? Is it an AWD? I refer to it when talking to my husband as the Matt Kenseth Special! Now I just need to win the Lotto so I can get me one (car that is)!
Karen Bryant, Beloit, Wis.
A I love the car. I think I will keep my 2009 for at least another year. It is a front wheel drive; fortunately we don’t get a lot of snow down here in North Carolina! I don’t know which engine is in it, I don’t think there was more than one available when I purchased it.

Q

Matt, I heard you mention the double yellow out of bounds rule. I wonder if you would like to see every track have an out bounds track apron section? I prefer one so that damaged or slow cars get out of the way and know safety is tantamount in the sport.
Richard Clark, Soldiers Grove, Wis.

A I don’t think a yellow line rule is necessary for tracks other than Daytona and Talladega.

Q Hi Matt, I have never seen anywhere what your middle name is. So, what is your middle name? Thanks.
Dawn Schwefel, Watertown, Wis.
A It’s top secret!!!

Q Hi Matt, I’m going to be racing at the Berlin Raceway in Michigan this year. I was wondering if you had any advice or tips?
Kyle Cortez, Jenison, Mich.
A

If you have ever seen me race at Berlin, you wouldn’t be asking me for tips! I would try to get some advice from some of the local guys that race there a lot, they are awesome up there.
