Matt Kenseth finished seventh in the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota at the Brickyard, picking up two spots on the final green-white-checkered finish. Kenseth started the race in 23rd, but had moved into the top 10 by the first caution. The veteran driver was as high as third in the race, but brought the No. 20 home in seventh.

Matt Kenseth earned a sixth-place finish in the No. 20 Dollar General Camry at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Kenseth started eighth and remained in the top 10 until lap 81, when he received a penalty for speeding on pit road during a green flag pit stop. He was able to regain the lead lap and climb back through the field for a sixth-place finish.

Matt Kenseth drove the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota to a 5th place finish in Kentucky. Qualifying was canceled due to rain and the field was set by practice speeds, with Kenseth starting 16th. Kenseth reported alternator problems early in the race, but quickly climbed into the top 10 and posted his fifth top-10 in five races at Kentucky Speedway.

Matt Kenseth piloted the No. 20 DEWALT Toyota to a 23rd-place finish at Daytona. The green flag flew for the rain-delayed event just before midnight and Kenseth rolled off 20th. He was soon in the top-ten, but was caught up in one of many wrecks and went a lap down. Kenseth was able to return to the lead lap and finish 23rd.

Matt Kenseth recorded a 21st-place finish at Sonoma Raceway. Kenseth qualified the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota third, his best start at the California road course. On lap 45, Kenseth was forced to pit road with a flat left rear tire. After returning to the lead lap and rising to fifth position, Kenseth was shuffled to 21st on a late race restart.
