Matt Kenseth recorded a 21st-place finish at Sonoma Raceway. Kenseth qualified the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota third, his best start at the California road course. On lap 45, Kenseth was forced to pit road with a flat left rear tire. After returning to the lead lap and rising to fifth position, Kenseth was shuffled to 21st on a late race restart.

Matt Kenseth posted a fourth-place finish in Sunday's rain-shortened event. Kenseth started the day in 12th, but rain soon brought out the red flag on lap 10. The race was red flagged several times for rain, and the race was declared complete on lap 138. Kenseth stayed out under the final yellow flag and was able to finish fourth.

After starting 19th in the Dollar General Toyota Camry, Matt Kenseth recorded a sixth-place finish at Pocono Raceway. A speeding penalty during the first pit stop caused Kenseth to fall back to 25th. The driver was able to climb back into the top 10 and eventually took the checkered flag in sixth-place.

Matt Kenseth was relegated to a 39th-place finish at Dover by a broken track bar mount on his No. 20 Dollar General Camry. He started the 400-lap race at the 1-mile facility in fourth and stayed within the top five for the first 200 laps. Just after lap 300, Kenseth reported something broken in the suspension, and soon was forced out of the race.

Matt Kenseth overcame a loose wheel to finish second in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover. Kenseth started the 200-mile event in third, but had to pit early for a loose wheel, putting him a lap down and on a different pit cycle from the leaders. He was able to drive through the field, but had to pit late, while the leader did not.
