Looking to Finish Strong in Phoenix

Matt Kenseth – Phoenix Advance Team: No. 6 Wyndham Rewards Ford Fusion

Crew Chief: Matt Puccia

Can-Am 500 – Sunday, November 11 at 2:30 p.m. EST on NBC, MRN, SiriusXM 90

Kenseth on racing at Phoenix:

“It’s always good to come back to a track when you’re the defending race winner. Those are great memories, and that win will always be special to me. This weekend should be interesting because of all the changes to the track. It will still drive the same, but with the new start-finish line just before the dogleg, and the new pit road configuration, it will be a little different once we get into the race. I’m looking forward to the weekend, and doing what we can to put two good races together for the 6 team and finish the season strong.”

Kenseth at ISM Raceway

  • Matt Kenseth returns to ISM Raceway this weekend for his 31st Cup start. Kenseth is the defending fall race winner after securing his 39th career MENCS win there last November.

  • The 2003 Cup Champion also won at Phoenix back in 2002 for Jack Roush, and has 12 top-10 and seven top-five finishes. He’s finished third on three occasions, including most recently in the 2014 fall race after starting fifth.

  • Kenseth has an average finish of 16.6 and an average starting position of 17.3 with one career pole (2011).

  • Overall at the 1-mile tri-oval, Kenseth has led 329 laps, 117 of which came in his last three starts.

  • Kenseth also has 15 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Phoenix, winning once (2006) with six top-five and 13 top-10 results.
